How to order a Dell system through CBiT:
Please note that this guide covers a fairly generic process. The steps outlined can be achieved several ways, and as such, there may be extra or fewer steps involved in your own experience. The basics should all be similar to what is displayed below, but if you have any questions about this guide or require additional assistance, don't hesitate to e-mail our CBiT Dell Manager at dell@cbit.ca or give us a call during normal business hours.
  • 1) Begin by clicking here to open dell.ca. You will be presented with their front page.
  • 2) Mouse over the top dropdown menu, choosing the appropriate section for your needs: Home, Office or Data Centre.
    3) Click on the type of product you wish to order, such as Desktops or Laptops.
  • 4) Select one of the following options:
    4a) Choose a base system from one of Dell's many selections and click Continue to be taken to that product's configuration choices.
    4b) Narrow your selection by clicking on links located in the left-hand menu such as Product Category or Price Range. You will be directed to a new page where you can select a system based on your criteria. Click Continue/Choose once you have made a decision.
    4c) Choose an item from Dell's Online Deals section and click Add To Cart to purchase a pre-configured system.
  • 5) Select a featured system for your base configuration by clicking on its corresponding Choose button.
  • 6) Customize your system by clicking on the components you wish to modify and then choosing a different item.
    7) Modify Essentials and Accessories by clicking on their respective tabs.
    8) Click on Review and Continue for Dell to validate your system's build.
  • 9) Review your summary and make sure you have made all necessary modifications. If you wish to make further updates, click the My Components tab or the edit link located to the right of an item.
    10) Click Add To Cart once you are satisfied with your selections.
  • 11) Click Email cart to send your system's configuration to our CBiT Dell Manager.
  • 12) Enter your login information and click Sign In or click Proceed to Registration and Checkout if you do not already have an account.
  • 13) Enter the following information:
    13a) Type dell@cbit.ca into the Email these items to: field.
    13b) Type CBiT Dell Manager, hit your Enter key twice for line spacing, and finally, type your First Name, Last Name and Phone Number in the Add a personal message or comment: field. This information is required for us to contact you about your pending Dell order.
    13c) Click Send to complete the form.
  • 14) Click Return to cart once you see a confirmation screen regarding your cart details being sent.
  • 15) Click Move Item to My Saved Items to store this system for future reference.
  • 16) Note the expiration date and information on how to retrieve your item the next time you visit dell.ca.
    17) Close the dell.ca website.
